Can 'Blah' be Considered a First Word?

Myah doesn't like taking her vitamins.

A Night at the Rodeo

On Friday night we went to a local bull riding competition (yes these still do exist in the west). Caleb has been wanting to do this for a long time and had to get all 'Cowboyed Up' - ie. cowboy hat, cowboy boots, cowboy belt, etc. We tried to find something matching for Myah, but the best we could do was a denim jumper - she's just not ready for the cowgirl thing yet. Anyway, Caleb was in awe watching the bulls buck the riders around and he thought it was pretty funny when this one bull kept spinning in a circle (like it was chasing it's tail) instead of bucking off it's rider. The bull then stopped and stood still for a few seconds like it was dizzy (definitely not something you expected from a bull) before he started bucking. Pop-pop also enjoyed the bull riding - something you don't see in PA very much!

Is The Honeymoon Over Already?

7/09/08 9:20 PM - Caleb arrives home and meets his sister for the first time - everyone is happy.

7/11/08 8:47 PM - While driving home from dinner, Myah reaches over and pulls the straw out of Caleb's drink. Not seeing the humor in this, Caleb is reduced to tears and cries "I don't want a little sister anymore!" This will go down in the history books as StrawGate 2008.

7/12/08 9:12 AM - Myah attempts to ambush Caleb and take control of his robot. Caleb retaliates by hooking his robot up to Myah's walker and pulling her around the room.

7/14/08 10:05 AM - Caleb makes a trap to keep Myah out of his toy box. The surveillance video below demonstrates the brilliance behind his plan. He has already applied for a patent on this design - do not attempt to duplicate it.

Just for the record - our child does wear actual clothing (most of the time).

Welcome Home Caleb!

He's home! Myah has finally met her big brother and Caleb is so excited to see his little sister! This is at the airport right after Caleb came through the gate. Aren't they so sweet together? Check out the adorable shirts - Caleb's says 'I'm the Big Brother' and Myah's says 'I love my big brother this much'. Thanks Katie, Alex and Leo!

Sorry I didn't get to post sooner but it's been a busy few days since Caleb got back.

Finally, a family of four!

Myah's 1st Fourth of July

We spent the 4th of July eating steaks and hanging out by the pool at our friend's house. Myah was a little charmer and had a blast swimming in the pool. Needless to say, she fell asleep long before the fireworks went off. Guess there's always next year.

Happy 4th of July

A special thank you to everyone in the armed forces.
We
appreciate your sacrifice and are very thankful for you.

This is 'America the Beautiful' and a song about Betsy Ross making the US flag.
I love the words he sings in 'America the Beautiful' - listen closely
(ie, for spaceship skies -instead of spacious skies).

Giggle Girl

Okay, I know this video looks weird (I shot it upside down) but it was the only way I could tickle Myah and still hold onto the camera - plus you can see her face better this way. Gotta love that giggle!

We sent two cameras to Myah's foster family so they could take some pictures to help document her life with them. We got both cameras back, full of pictures, and these are a few of our favorites.
(By clicking on 'play' a new page will load. Once you see the album click on the forward/reverse buttons (circle w/triangle in it) at the bottom center of the album to view pictures.)

Hanging Out At Home

So excited to see the doggie!

Trying to decide if she likes the rocking chair or not

She seems to have just discovered that her lips can make noises if she smacks them together. This was the best video I could get because every time I'd bring out the camera, she'd try to climb up to grab it. Hopefully, saying 'Momma' isn't too far away!

Swimming

Daddy took Myah swimming for the first time the other night - doesn't she look adorable in her bikini? Unfortunately, we had a wind storm right before we got in and a lot of the leaves from the tree ended up in the pool but she didn't seem to mind - actually she thought it was pretty fun to try and catch them.
